Put your Spirit in Charge (Excerpt from Kenneth Hagin Ministry’s Word of Faith Magazine February//Ma


The past blogs has been about helping us to understand from a spiritual standpoint why we seem to struggle with maintaining healthy eating habits. Even though we are overcomers, it is the process of overcoming that we struggle with. These excerpts are really good in helping us to understand why we struggle and they offer a solution. The solution involves the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the believer but it also requires something from us. Surrendering our body to God as a living sacrifice. That is something that only we can do. God is not going to come down and strip off every weight and every sin (Heb. 12:1). That is something that we have to do! That’s the hard part but not an impossible part! As we strengthen our inner man with the word of God and have a sincere commitment to create a healthy lifestyle, we can accomplish our lifestyle goals. Nothing is done apart from the Spirit of God and the Word of God. It takes more than a strong desire to change. You will need the Agent of change involved as well and He is the person of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

Excerpt: Know that when you stop doing something your flesh has enjoyed for a long time, it’s not going to feel good. But if you want to walk closely with God and fulfill His pan for your life it’s important to say no to your own desires-no matter how mc our flesh dislikes it (Gal. 5:24); Rom. 8:13). Left to itself, your flesh will lead you into sin. You have to realize that you will have a body to contend with as long as you live on this earth. Once you understand this, you can determine to keep your body under the control of your spirit according to the Word.

Next week the final excerpt will be talking about it’s up to you to tell your body what to do.

Action Plan: Keep on keeping on. Do what you have been doing for the past 3 weeks and that is building yourself up on your most holy faith. Build yourself us with the word of God and be strengthen from within as you are creating a healthy lifestyle for yourself and your family. Remember, it’s not about the food but it is about giving God total praise!
