How to Produce a Turnaround in Your Eating Habits


These bible truths will get you through tough times this holiday season so your healthy lifestyle doesn’t unravel. I will encourage you with what God encouraged me with and that is, “Don’t let one day or one season undo all of your hard work.” God’s best for you this Holiday season and may you end the season with your healthy lifestyle still intact and your appetite fully surrendered to Him!

Proverbs 4:23

  1. Make sure your affections lead you in the right direction.

  2. Put boundaries on your desires; don’t go after everything you see or want.

  3. Look straight ahead. Keep your eyes fixed on your goals and don’t get side tracked by what leads to overeating or making wrong food choices.

  4. Avoid food and habits that stir up the wrong passions or evoke the wrong emotions.

Proverbs 4:25-27

  1. Don’t look at what you are giving up. Look at what you are gaining by surrendering your appetite to God.

  2. Look forward to walking out your healthy lifestyle journey.

Proverbs 5:11-13

1. When desire is fully activated, people don’t want advice, they want satisfaction. That’s why it’s important to preplan what you are going to eat or set your boundaries before you go to a party or gathering. Predetermine in your heart that you are going to do what is right, not what you want to do.

2. The best time to learn the danger and foolishness of going after anything that is harmful is long before the temptation comes.

3. Resistance is easier if the decision has already been made.

4. Don’t wait to see what happens. Prepare for temptation by deciding now how you will act when you face it.
