I trust that you are moving forward with your goals of weight loss and overall life style changes.
The word of God tells us that a man without a vision will perish and Habakkuk 2:2 talks about "writing the vision on tablets." In my book, More Than a Conqueror: Regaining your willpower over food, I urge the reader to get a vision for their life and see themselves looking that way. If you are sincere about making lifestyle changes I strongly urge you to rewrite your lifetime goals and include in them your weight loss plan. I have had some tough challenges in my life that could have been easy reasons for me to turn around and give up, especially when I began to resist the spirit of gluttony; but through the power of God's word, I began to resist the adversary and overcame him. This was a time that I could have easily given up because the struggle was not pleasant and my opponent was so strong; but not stronger than the word of God!! Had I not had a vision from God as to what His plan was for my life, and had I not had a vision as to how I wanted to look, I would have given up. But because I allowed myself to see what God saw in me and I believed His assessment of me, I persevered. I urge you to get a vision for your life and write it down and look at it every day and confess it out of your mouth because it is that very vision that will keep you afloat in the heat of your struggle. When you actually believe that you can become what God has called you to become, you will dig a trench, spiritually speaking, and stand your ground in the strength of God’s word, while all the time calling upon His name for your strength and joy.
I want to encourage you that God's plan for your life is real but your adversary has a plan as well and you get to choose whose plan will rule over your life! God's best for you this year as you write your vision for your life and as you implement those plans. I want to encourage you that you are not alone; God is there to assist you and His word is near you, even in your mouth-speak it! (Jeremiah 1:9) It is a deliverer! A mighty fortress! A strong tower!
Scriptures to meditate on: Habakkuk 2:2, Proverbs 29:18, Jeremiah 29:11, and Romans 10:8
“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, so he may run that reads it.” (Hab. 2:2)
Action Plan: Take time this week to rewrite your vision for your life and include it in your weight loss goals. Read your vision out loud every day and let it become a part of you. Never let it out of your site as you will need it as a road map; a reminder to stay on course.
