A mind is a terrible thing to waste. There is strength in unity. So true. That’s why I am offering to host my very first Tele-Book Reading Club for my first book, More than a Conqueror: Regaining your will power over food. This book was written out of my struggle to eat right after the Holy Spirit spoke to me, “Nuts, grains, fruits and vegetables.” Those words devastated me, but in hindsight, God was giving me long life. Also, during this time, we will talk about how to avoid the foods that lead to cravings (in my book I call them red flag foods), that cause you to have a downward spiral. We will talk about what to eat and what not to eat and why it’s important to stay away from extremes.
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Psalms 92: 12.
Commentary: “Palm trees are known for their long life. To flourish like the palm trees means to stand tall and to live long.”
This book might not be for everyone, but if you are in a place or have been in a place of a real struggle in developing a healthier lifestyle and can’t seem to make it work, this book is for you. When you are in church and hold up your hand for prayer, and then they say, “Now take another step and come down front. We are not trying to embarrass you but to help you,” well, that’s what I’m saying to you. Don’t be embarrassed if you have an eating disorder or even that you might love food right now more than you love God and His word. I tell people, “That’s ok,” for now. God can handle that if your heart is sincere before Him. However, in the long run, He won’t share His glory with anyone. So somewhere along the way, He expects us to grow up and get free. I’m not trying to embarrass any one, but to be a resource and help to you in your struggle so that you are able to get free and move on with your life and be who God called you to be. No more hiding behind food and using obesity as a means of hiding the true you! There’s true beauty in you and it surrounds you! God can make beauty out of your ashes.
