Here are a few tips on avoiding the triggers that leads to emotional eating during the holiday so you don’t unravel your nutritional goals!
Go for the fun and the people, not the food.
Don’t make the food the guest of honor. Don’t let it be the only reason you show up at an event.
Set your limits. Decide ahead of time what you will and will not eat; let your moderation be known to all men.
Eat until you are satisfied and honestly whisper a sincere prayer and ask the Lord to help you to be satisfied. Don’t be amazed at the instant strength He will give-that’s what He does.
Be honest about your red flag foods and try to avoid them-these are the type of foods that when you take one bite it sets off a rocket inside of you and before you know it you are out of control.
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
