You are a new creature in Christ. Old things have passed away, behold all things are made new (2 Corinthians 5:17). I can’t tell you the number of times that this scripture has strengthen me and saved me in my earlier days of struggling with the spirit of gluttony-when I was at my weakest and tempted to go back to my old ways of eating. I had to constantly remind myself that I no longer belonged to myself that I was bought with a price and that my body was the temple of God and not a garbage disposal (1 Corinthians 6:20). I encourage you to meditate on these scriptures day and night. The Word of God says when you meditate on the scriptures in this way, you obey them, and then you will make yourself successful (Joshua 1:8). The word don't lie!
For some reason I keep coming back to these types of themes with many of my blogs. I sense the Lord is keeping me right in this place because I believe that this is an area, the emotions (will, soul, mind) is where the battle is either won or lost in our lifestyle changes, especially when it comes to correcting eating habits. It is a place where the rubber hits the road so to speak. I want to encourage you to bring your will and your desires under God’s submission and strengthen your inner man by meditating on the the word of God. When you to this, then you are able to stand strong in His strength and break those destructive eating habits that are counterproductive to your health. Can someone say amen? Write me and tell me about it. I would love to hear from you. If this blog blesses you, share it with your friends, especially if you know they are struggling in this area.
