You have made the decision to lose weight and to develop a healthier life style. One important question to ask yourself is “Am I prepared to change?” So often we want the results but have difficulty or unwillingness to put in the work that it takes to be self-discipline. If you have been led by your appetite or emotions for years, breaking the habit can be daunting and discouraging. Over the next 2 weeks I will be sharing a few points that will help as you ponder the possibility of change as it relates to developing a healthier lifestyle:
Change not only requires a decision but it requires a mind shift and an attitude adjustment. The word of God talks about renewing the mind.Romans 12:2
Change requires courage (the absent of fear; being firm in your decision).
Change requires your willingness to be open and honest with yourself and own the truth about your past, that it is not working for you and you need to change.
Change requires your willingness to look at the function of food differently and make the decision that you are going to eat to live, not live to eat.
Change requires you to train or harness your emotions to agree with what you are trying to do. Emotions left unchecked or not dealt with, have the potential to come back later on and sabotage your plans.
Change requires you to be willing to spend time in God’s word and in His presence so that your emotions will begin to agree with God’s word. Everything in you that have ran rampant and wild and have driven you to overeat must be brought into captivity to God’s word. 2 Corinthians 10:5
What actions have you taken to support your decision to change? Write me and tell me about it. i would love to hear from you.
Next week what change requires will continue.......
