Growing up Emotionally: Your Destination is the Image of Christ
The word of God tells us that we are to be conformed to His image and be like Him in all respects.
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
Becoming emotional mature is not an overnight success. It is a journey of putting on and putting off. It is knowing what pleases God and doing it! It is a journey of stripping off every weight and sin that so easily besets you (Hebrews 12: 1). It is about putting of the old man and putting on the new man emotionally and spiritually speaking-dealing with those emotions and feelings that sabotages your success. It is a daily getting up and deciding to make wise, solid choices that moves you toward your goal. It should be a delightful journey and not one of dread and fear. When you are going through this journey make it your business to delight in the Lord! When you delight in Him, he will give you the desires of your heart! (Psalms 37:4)
