Welcome to my site. My name is Annie Maiden-Gipson, R.N., and I am a Wellness Educator, Speaker and Author. I am a healthcare professional with an extensive background in nursing. Today I am a speaker, author, and founder of Healthy Living With Annie, a Christian-based health and wellness program. Health Living With Annie exists to help people who are dealing with over-indulgence on food and people who chronically eat the wrong kind of food but have a desire to develop a healthy lifestyle.
I created Healthy Living With Annie out of my own struggles with food, and my passion to see others develop a healthy lifestyle. I understand the emotional and spiritual components involved in overcoming unhealthy eating habits and the strength, courage and commitment it takes to leave the past behind. My desire is to help others get on a path to healthy living. I have done workshops, retreats and seminars.
I have always had an interest in food but didn't know exactly how to prepare it the right way. Like many of you, I cooked food the way my parents did, which as we have learned, has a lot of health risks associated with it. Health risks like high blood pressure, diabetes, and strokes. In addition, I also ate a lot of fast food and processed foods which have no nutritional value. With God's help I was able to look at my eating habits and see that I needed to make a change. To understand how to prepare food a different way, I studied the fundamentals of food preparation in college.
I have developed a Redesign Your Image Plan which is a Systematic 6 week plan for healthy eating. The plan is designed to take you on a personal journey working from the inside out to help you to identify mindsets, attitudes and behaviors that can sabotage your success. I am also the author of an EBook, More than a Conqueror: Regaining your willpower over food. My most recent book is Journey to Success: Strategies to getting free from destructive eating habits. Journey to Success offers a weekly action plan that will help readers not feel overwhelmed by their lifestyle changes and will encourage them to be willing to continue over any obstacles. This book offers strategies on how to get back up after disappointments and setbacks. You can find these resources on this site, and I encourage you to take advantage of them if you are serious about developing a healthy lifestyle. The resources will assist you, not only in losing the weight, but will help you keep the weight off.
